Enda Scahill has been at the forefront of Irish banjo playing for some time. A multiple All- Ireland Banjo and Mandolin Champion, Enda has taught and performed all over the globe with many of Ireland’s finest musicians.
He comes from a deep tradition of Irish Music in East Galway on the western Irish shores. East Galway is synonymous with some of the greats in Irish music such as Joe Burke and Frankie Gavin.
Enda’s debut solo album Pick It Up (SUNCD36) was released in 2000 and took the banjo playing world by storm. Art Ketchin (Celtic Beat) described it as “the strongest banjo we’ve ever heard”. The Irish Times praised its “slamming triplets, rapid melodies and constant inventiveness”. Irish American News in Chicago awarded Enda Best Male Newcomer. Irish Music Magazine described Enda’s playing as “simply divine”.
In 2001 Enda was invited to join Moving Cloud which was soon to become the BrockMcGuire Band (www.brockmcguire.com). Enda has recorded on their eponymous album and has toured with them extensively in Ireland and America playing at the great festivals of Milwaukee, Dublin Ohio, North Texas Irish Festival, Celtic Colours to name but a few.
In 2006 Enda collaborated with Paul Brock to release Humdinger, a collection of music on banjo and melodeon echoing the exciting music of the American Music Halls of the 1920’s. Paddy Moloney of the Chieftains said Humdinger “Brilliantly captures the beauty, the moods and the colours of our music. Incredible virtuosic playing. A great album”

Enda has also recorded a number of albums with Sessions From The Hearth and has toured with such bands as The Frankie Gavin Band and the Furey Brothers.
Enda has been gifted with tremendous technical prowess and also a wonderful talent for teaching this technique to others. This banjo tutor is his opportunity to share this talent with you.
Most recently Enda has performed with BANJAXED a group of Irish banjo players featuring Angelina Carberry, Marcus Maloney and Leon Hunt backed by John Joe Kelly and Ed Boyd.
In Jan 2009 Enda performed with Stockton’s Wing for their Reunion concert In Ennis, Co. Clare, the first in 5 years.
